ABOUT DR. KOUROUMPAS

Dr. Efstratios K. Kouroumpas, also known as Stratos Kouroumpas, is a Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon with extensive experience in the United Kingdom and Greece.

In the United Kingdom, he worked as a Senior Clinical Fellow and later Locum Consultant at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. He then completed an official Colorectal Fellowship as a Senior Clinical Fellow at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He subsequently held a Consultant Surgeon post at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He now works at Tzaneio General Hospital of Piraeus and practises privately at REA Hospital and REA MED.

His practice focuses on colorectal cancer surgery, advanced minimally invasive techniques and complex general surgery.

FLUORESCENCE-GUIDED LYMPHATIC MAPPING

Real intraoperative near-infrared imaging with indocyanine green (ICG) during lymphatic mapping in surgery for sigmoid colon cancer.

This is a selective adjunct used according to the operative protocol. It does not replace oncologically indicated lymphadenectomy or surgical judgement.
